art and mgmt pairs independent studio managers with visual artists for both short and longterm tenures. Valuing the time and expertise of each party, we aim to establish complementary relationships that promote organizational success and set up internal systems for the studio’s enduring viability.

Our studio managers are equipped to handle:

  • Communications: Written, verbal and in a liaison capacity

  • Writing: CVs, statements, narrative bios, and other core artist documents.

  • Grants & proposals: From ideation to app execution.

  • Research: Conceptual and practical research to help build out the vision.

  • Administrative duties: From submitting W9s to maintaining DropBox, we’re on it.

  • Inventory: Maintain artwork details and provenance in preferred database.

  • Strategy: Ideate, create and/or iterate towards client goals. Your studio manager is your teammate, above all!

Having a full-time studio manager may not seem possible for early career artists lacking substantial discretionary income. Our part-time studio managers, however, or “independent” studio managers, as we refer to them, offer an alternative for artists in need of flexible support. Typically, an independent studio manager will be working with 3-4 artists during any given season, allocating their time and resources according to various artists’ demands and budgets. Instead of denying yourself—and your studio—the opportunity of support, inquire to see how we can work together.
